MUSIC: Sun Nov 5 – Adam Kent

Thrilled beyond words to welcome the New Amsterdam Boys and Girls Choir (soon to be renamed New Amsterdam Choral Academy) to CUUC for the first time! Please visit https://www.nabgc.org to learn more about the choir and its mission. Solo piano works performed this Sunday include a setting of the Spiritual “The Angels Changed My Name” by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Unitarian composer Edvard Grieg’s joyous “Wedding Day at Troldhaugen.” This Sunday’s Offertory features a work by Jane Hart, who was a prominent member of CUUC in the last century, when we were just “CUC.”

Postlude: “Amani Utupe (Swahili-Grant Us Peace, Give Us Courage)” ~ Patsy Ford Simms

As we travel down this weary road, amani utupe na ustawi.
We need strength to carry on our load, amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.

Road is rocky and the way is dark, amani utupe na ustawi.
Ev’ry road has a different fork, amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.

Hallelujah, hallelujah! Amani utupe na ustawi.
Hallelujah, hallelujah! Amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.
Grant us peace, give us courage. Amani utupe na ustawi.
Amani utupe na ustawi!
