Love is in the air at CUUC in the wise message of this week’s worship service and in the warm afterglow of St. Valentine’s Day. This Sunday’s solo piano selections bring the sultry climate of Andalusia in Isaac Albéniz’s “Almería” and the yearning sensuality of Argentinian dance in Alberto Ginastera’s “Danza de la moza donosa.” In the morning’s Offertory, I invite everyone to contemplate Leonard Cohen’s “Anthem,” which exhorts us, “Forget your perfect offering/There is a crack, a crack in everything/That’s how the light gets in.” And, for those of you who remember, Reg Presley’s “Love Is All Around” was an anthem of sorts for the Summer of Love of 1967. Read on for programming details and stay tuned for spoken introductions.

*Lyrics
I feel it in my fingers/I feel it in my toes/Love is all around me/And so the feeling grows/It is written on the wind/It’s everywhere I go/So if you really love me /come on and let it show/You know I love you I always will/My mind’s made up/By the way that I feel /there’s no beginning/There’ll be no end/’Cause on my love/You can depend/I see your face before me/As I lay on my bed/I kinda get to thinking/Of all the things we said/You gave your promise to me/And I gave mine to you/I need someone beside me/In everything I do/You know I love you/I always will/My mind’s made up/By the way that I feel/There’s no beginning /There’ll be no end/’Cause on my love/You can depend/It is written on the wind/It’s everywhere I go/So if you really love me/Come on and let it show.
