This Sunday’s Gathering Music centers kids of all ages. Mozart referred to his keyboard sonata in C Major K. 545 as a work “for beginners.” For sure, many young piano students have cut their teeth on this popular work, which nevertheless has a charm and elegance to beguile every music lover. Octavio Pinto, an architect by profession and the husband of the legendary Brazilian pianist Guiomar Novaes, immortalized his impressions of children at play in his Scenas Infantis (Scenes of Children). Other music includes the CUUC Choir’s rendition of a touching number from the musical Dear Evan Hansen and some fun tunes from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Read on for programming details.
