MUSIC: Sun Jan 21 – Adam Kent

In this house that is our sanctuary, I have shared the music of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg regularly over the past 34 years. His tuneful, emotionally engaging music embodies the widest possible range of human sentiment, and his faith as a Unitarian makes him the perfect fit for many of our services. The composer himself once characterized his music this way: “Artists like Bach and Beethoven erected churches and temples on the heights. I only wanted to build houses for people in which they might feel happy and at home.” The CUUC Choir is back with us again today, Kim and Christian Force bring us Bruno Mars’ “Count on Me,” and Lennon-McCartney have the last word.
