Sunday Worship
2025 March 30, 10:00am “Our Love is Universal” ~ Rev. Danielle Lindstrom, Minister Anthony Dixon
Our special guest this morning is Minister Anthony Dixon, deputy director of the Parole Preparation Project, who will also speak at our after-worship presentation.
Each Sunday, all are invited to join us. We explore together themes that inform our faith, challenge us to go deeper, and call us to action with love at the center. We hope you find care, support, love, and community here. Each service is a little different. The one thing that never changes: it is good to be together.

On Sunday morning, we gratefully welcome Minister Anthony Dixon as our guest speaker. For over three decades, Minister Dixon has advocated for prison abolition, focusing on reforms related to lengthy sentences, life imprisonment, post-release care, basic rights behind bars, and parole. His work has led to DOCCS (Department of Corrections and Community Supervision) adopting person-first language, ending solitary confinement, ensuring New York State identification is issued to released individuals, and advancing discussions on offering licensed certification programs in prisons. Anthony is a key architect of the Elderly Parole Bill and the Fair and Timely Bill, and played a significant roll in the passing of the HALT (Humane Alternatives to Long-Term Solitary Confinement) law. He played a pivotal role in the landmark Santiago v. Miles (1988) case, challenging racial discrimination in Elmira Correctional Facility, and in influencing reforms across New York State prisons. During his incarceration, he created two transformative programs: Breaking Free from Criminal Thinking, and Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program Life Areas. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Parole Preparation Project, a prominent abolitionist organization that has expanded its work to 15 states. Minister Dixon will be part of the Releasing Aging People in Prison parole justice conversation following this morning’s worship. It will be a Sunday for learning, connection, growth, and transformation.
We hold worship services in our sanctuary at 10:00am. Grades K-12th children and youth begin in the sanctuary then leave after the story for a PlaceKeeping Activity. You can check the Religious Exploration schedule for more information. Childcare is available starting at 9:45am, and we offer a family area in the sanctuary for quiet play (parents, please sit alongside). After worship, we host a community presentation from RAPP (Release Aging People from Prison) in Fellowship Hall and online: https://bit.ly/CUUC-Zoom-3131.
